The two cherry varieties cultivated in the Vicenza province ripen between May and June. The most well-known is probably the Marostica PGI cherry, but the “durona” cherry is also very popular. Several local restaurants use cherries in the preparation of first and main course dishes, not just in desserts, as they pair well with vegetables, fish and meat.
